Yorgos Zois
Yorgos Zois was born in Athens in 1982. He studied applied Math and Nuclear Physics in N.T.U.A. and film direction at Stavrakou Film School, Athens and at U.d.K, Berlin. His debut short film “Casus Belli” premiered at the 67th Venice Film Festival in 2010 and participated in the official competition of numerous international film festivals winning multiple awards and distinctions. His second short film “Out of Frame” premiered at the 69th Venice Film Festival in 2012 and won the EFA award for the Best European short film and was nominated for Best Short film of the European Film Academy Awards 2012. He is currently working on his first feature “Stage Fright”, the script of which was awarded the development prize of CNC at the Cinelink 2011 and a Production Award at the Torino FilmLab 2012, while it partcipated at L’Atelier of Cannes IFF 2013.

A poster is an image with a purpose. It informs, it advertises, it warns or entertains. Collectively, posters form a gallery in the public space. But if there are no longer any messages, if advertising is prohibited and the billboards are abandoned, they reflect only our inner void. Out of the sound of traffic in the street, voice fragments and a concert of whistles and sirens emerges a continuous ominous tone that grows steadily louder, like the sound of approaching aircraft squadrons.
