Monika Maria Mazanek-Wilczyńska

In 1991-2014 a journalist at TVP Szczecin, the author of series of programs, reportage portraits of outstanding Poles living abroad for TVP Polonia and documentary programs for TVP Historia. For 10 years, she has been a correspondent of TVP Polonia in Germany, lecturer in television journalism at the University of Szczecin. In 2022, her book “Wolność bez wolności” will be published in Poland and Germany, about the fate of Poles who did not want to return to the People’s Republic of Poland after World War II, and a scientific monograph of 44 years of Polish troops at the American army in Germany, France, Belgium and the USA in the years 1945-1989 – as a doctoral dissertation.

  • Monte Cassino – pamięć o bitwie2024 | 52' | POL

    W styczniu 1944 roku alianci rozpoczęli walki o Monte Cassino – kluczowy punkt na mapie niemieckich umocnień, tzw. Linii Gustawa. Przez cztery miesiące krwawych starć nie udało się zdobyć wzgórza. Nocą z 11 na 12 maja do boju weszli żołnierze 2 Korpusu Polskiego generała Władysława Andersa. 18 maja nad gruzami klasztoru zawisła polska flaga i zabrzmiał hejnał mariacki grany przez Emila Czecha. Monte Cassino zostało zdobyte. Celem filmu było utrwalenie wspomnień kilkunastu nieżyjących już weteranów tej bitwy, obecnych 10 lat temu na rocznicowych uroczystościach na Monte Cassino oraz kilku  znaczących osób z Polonii brytyjskiej oraz powojenne losy weteranów podejrzewanych przez wywiad komunistyczny o szpiegostwo na rzecz Andersa. Film autorstwa Moniki Mazanek-Wilczyńskiej został zrealizowany dla Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej Oddział w Szczecinie, aby upamiętnić jedną z najkrwawszych odsłon II wojny światowej oraz ukazać losy jej uczestników.
